Somethings Gotta Give

Title: Something's Gotta Give
Speaker: Pastor Ryan Flores
Core Theme: Spiritual growth requires intentional movement and change; to experience God's promises and become a blessing to others, we must leave complacency behind, see ourselves through God's eyes, and actively follow His lead.
Key Scriptures:
- Genesis 12:1-2: "Now the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.'"
- Jeremiah 29:11: God has plans to prosper you, give you hope, and a future.
- Genesis 1:28: The mandate to be fruitful and multiply.
- Matthew 25:14-30: The Parable of the Talents (equating stagnation with wickedness and honoring multiplication/growth).
- 2 Corinthians 9:10-11: God supplies seed to the sower and enriches us to be generous.
Main Teaching Points:
- Foundational Truth: God's Heart for You — You are worth dying for and worth saving; your circumstances or past do not define your value. God loves growth and multiplication. He desires to take you from glory to glory, moving you from being blessed to becoming a blessing.
- The Principle: In Order to Get Growing, You Have to Get Going — God told Abram to "Go" before He showed him where. The price of growth is change ("When nothing changes, nothing changes"). Where one generation settles, the next generation starts — never stop moving forward in faith.
- What Gets Us Going? — See It: See yourself the way God sees you ("I will make your name great"). Your perspective is shaped by People (who you surround yourself with), Position (having a larger heart allows you to see further), and Proximity (getting close removes the fake; God cannot bless who you pretend to be). Want It (Desire): Desire is a powerful catalyst, which is why the enemy targets it first. Align desires/actions with God's will through Repentance (180-degree turn requiring sacrifice), Reconciliation (healing relationships, building trust), and Review (regularly evaluating time/resources/energy to ensure active growth). Choose It: Choose to be a blessing (reject defeated mindset; add value in every room). Choose to leave complacency (don't let past success hinder next level; follow God completely — if you go with Him, He will show you the way).
Declaration: "I choose to get going so I can get growing. I will not stay stuck or complacent. I align my heart with God's purpose, embrace change, and choose to be a blessing wherever He leads."
Altar Call / Closing Prayer: "Lord Jesus, I am ready to go wherever You want me to go, and I ask that Your hand would be on my life. I believe that Jesus died for the forgiveness of my sins and rose again so I can live the life He desired for me to live. I surrender it all to You."
Victory Outreach Mesa, are you excited for what the Lord is doing? We serve an awesome, awesome God. Hey, do me a favor before you're seated, would you grab a hold of your word, grab a hold of your Bible? Grab a hold of your Bible as you make your way back to your seats. Remain standing with me just for a moment, we're gonna get into the scripture. If you've got your Bible and you're ready to go, turn to the Book of Genesis, Genesis 12.
We'll read 2 verses right there this morning, 2 verses. Before we get going, I do wanna mention Miracle Sunday next week. Can y'all put your hands together for that real quick? Come on. Now, this is gonna be a, a powerful, powerful thing because we're raising $60,000 in one day. A good, a cool way to say it is 60K in a day.
Hello, somebody. Hey, this is, this is important because we've already taken a step as a church, and we've put our, our, our, our letter of intent in for a building, which means once they see that thing, and they're like, "Yeah, we want Victory Outreach Mesa here," next thing they're gonna say is, "Send me the bank stubs. "Hello So what, what, what we're saying is, God, we- because we believe it, we believe you're gonna touch the hearts of your people. So it's not just fundraising. We're not just trying to fulfill a budget. What we're doing is we're unlocking a promise.
Amen. Are you hearing me? We're unlocking a promise. This is why this is important. 200 people, 300 bucks. Man, I'm grateful.
A lady was so moved, man. She said, "I, I just moved from Kansas City. I'm flying back today to get my stuff. I'll be back here, but I'm a part ofI was a part of VOKC, now I'm back. "Her name's Ambrosia. Pray for her as she travels.
But she said, "Listen, soon as I get back, make sure my name is marked down. I'm giving 300. I wanna unlock-" Yeahthe next level of Victory Outreach Mesa. I don't know about you, man, but God is doing something special, and if you don't wanna get left, I need you to take some notes on this sermon today, okay? Because this word right here will make sure you do not get left behind, 'cause VOMesa is on the move. Are you ready for it?
Genesis chapter 12. Genesis chapter 12, verses one and 2. And the Bible reads like this. It says, "Now the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country, from your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. '" Isn't it funny how God says, "Go before I show"? that howYou gotta give people some grace.
They're trying to figure it out. I'm trying to figure out where God wants me to go. He just told me to go. He didn't show me where to go, though. And this is the tension that we're all constantly walking in. And then he continues here and he says, "And I will make a great nation.
Make you a great nation. I will bless you, and I will make your name great. "Tell your neighbor, "You got a great name. "I don't know how to pronounce it, but it's great. I don't evenYou know, people got difficult names now. Jaquelyn.
Jacqueline. Make your name great. It's hard to pronounce, but it's, it's, it's great. Just keep it simple. Spell it the way it sounds. You know what I mean?
Sorry, y'all. "So that you will be a blessing. "Would you pray with me? Father, bless your Word. Bless this time together. In Jesus' name everybody can say- Amen.
Amen. Do me a favor. Before you seat, take your seat, look to 3 people, give them my sermon title, and tell them, "Something's gotta give. "Something's gotta give. Something's gotta give. Hey, today we're gonna talk, we're gonna talk about change.
We're gonna keep in the vein of what our pastor spoke about last week. He spoke about keeping the change, and, and I think that when it comes to the walk and to our walk with, with, with God, a lot of the times we keep everything but the change. Hello. Hello. We wanna keep everything but the spirit of change. And, and, and I think that happens because when we look at what God wants to do, and we look at the heart of God, sometimes I think we can get a little confused about God's heart for us.
And when you get confused about God's heart for you, guess what that does. That confuses your heart for him. Come on. Because my heart for him can never be right and clear if I'm not right and clear about his heart for me. So I wanna lay a foundation just for over the next 2 to 3 minutes about how God feels about you. Someone say, "Me.
"Me. God, the way God feels about youListen, God thought you were worth dying for. Someone clap about that. Come on. Right off the rip, can I just set that standard? The, the, the person that walked out of your life, the, the job that let you go, the, the, the people that evicted you, the, the credit score does not determine your value.
God said you're worth dying for. God said you were worth saving. God says your life was worth keeping. I'm grateful for every person that walked in the room, 'cause there might have been a time where you didn't feel that way, but I'm grateful for churches like ours who declare the real Word of God, and the Word of God says your life is worth saving. Someone get excited this morning, because you are worth saving. You are worth dying for.
This is so important. Another thing about God is God loves to prosper his people. God says, "I have plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future," and God wants to take you from glory to glory. In fact, when God created this, this race that we live in called the human raceHello, somebody. And when he created us, he put these 2 little folks up in the garden named Adam and Eve. Not sure if you've ever heard about them, but this girl Eve was wigging out.
She done messed it up for all of us, okay? And if she woulda had H- if she woulda had half a husband, he woulda been there and did what he was supposed to do. But listen, they had, they had issues, okay? They didn't have marriage counseling. They didn't have marriage seminars to go to on Monday nights, Sunday nights, okay? Listen, but they, they're working on their marriage, and they, they, they messed up.
They dropped the ball, man. But before all that happened, God said, "Listen, regardless of how y'all messed up, I still love y'all, and I want y'all to" what? "Be fruitful and multiply. "Why? Because God loves growth, man. Jesus, a couple of thousand of years later, you know what Jesus said?
Jesus said there was a person who got 5 talents, person who got two, and another one who got one, and He said the 2 that multiplied them, the 2 that grew them were good, and the one that didn't wasn't. God equates not growing with wickedness. Amen. God equates not growing with wickedness. That's important to understand that. He says because you didn't grow, it's wicked.
This, this is the, this is the heart of God for me and you, and that's good news because pastor preached about you gotta go from being blessed to a blessing, and my heart and my mind instantly went, "Okay, how do I grow into that? How do I become that? "God says, "I will make you," which that language is language of you're not there yet, but I'm gonna grow you into it. Is there anybody in the room that wants to grow this morning? Is there anybody in the room that wants to, God, I wanna grow into everything you called me to be, and I wanna grow not because just for me, but because it's what God wants for my life. God wants you to grow.
God wants you to become great. God wants to do these things. These things are so important to understand because the way that we see God determines how we see us. It determines how we see us, and if we don't determine that God looks at us and doesn't say, "What a waste," but says, "What, what theLook at the potential that's in them. "Potential is not poison for tomorrow. It's power for today.
Amen. It's the power you need to get through today. When you can think about what I can do, what I can accomplish, it should get you moving. It should get you going. It should get you excited because you're thinking to yourself, "Man, there's so much I could do for God. "But guess what?
Nothing happens if you don't start moving 'cause here's the key to growing. If anyone in the room wants to grow, write this down. I gottaI gotta go. In order to get growing, I must get- Going. Whoo, y'all got it. You're so smart.
In order to get growing, I have to get- GoingHe told Abraham-What are you waiting for? Whose permission are you waiting for? Whose name? You got a permission slip, and you're taking it back to your pastor, to your leader. Listen, you don't need permission to be great for God. You don't need permission to seek after God.
You don't need permission to get in your word. You don't need permission to love your enemies. Hello. Come on. You don't need permission to forgive those who hurt you. You don't need permission to do the things that God has called you to do.
This is so important. He said, "Abraham, go," because he's never gonna get growing if he doesn't get going, and we understand that. God wants to do what with our lives? He wants to grow them. God wants to grow your life. God wants to build your life, but here's one thing that we must understand.
The price of growth is change. Yes. on. Because when nothing changes, guess what? Ooh, you guys are so smart in the front row. Prefer yous in the back.
When nothing changes, nothing changes. If he didn't get going, nothing would ever change. Either we believe that God has more and move, or we settle. But listen to this. Where one generation settles, the next generation starts. I have a question.
Is where you started the result of where your generation settled before you, and would you be happy starting where you settled? Wow. that Would you be happy starting where you settled? If not, never stop going because if you never stop going, you'll never stop growing. If you just keep going, keep pushing yourself, keep getting up, keep pursuing God, keep getting involved, keep getting connected, keep making the call, keep showing up to work, keep showing up for your family, keep praying for your lost loved ones, keep praying for your husband, keep praying for your wife. Why?
Because if I never stop going, I'll never stop growing, and the more that I grow, the better I get, and the better we get, the better everything else arounds us gets. I thought somebody in the room would get excited with me because that means that I'm not a victim to my circumstance because I have a choice today, and I can choose to go. Someone shout go. Go. I have a choice. I don't have to stay where I'm at.
I don't have to stay stuck in my mess. I get to make a decision, and the decision I make begins with a G and ends with a O, and it's pronounced like go. Because I know one thing's for sure. If nothing changes, nothing's ever gonna change. I can't stay with this little stank attitude I got. I cannot stay with this little half-hearted praise I got.
I cannot stay with this little bitty worship I got. I gots to go to the land of milk and honey where things are overflowing. I gotta get going. Someone shout go. I gotta get going. Go.
One of the greatest blessings God has ever given you is the option to-He's given you the option to go, and if you never stop going, you'll never stop- Maybe this feels good today. But here's the question. If getting going gets me growing, what is it that gets me going? Because what gets you going is the things that the Devil is going to try to stop you from understanding. Because if he can stop you from going-rightyou'll never start growing. Amen.
Come on. So what is it that gets us growing? Number one, he says this, "I'll make your name great. "What does that mean? I see it. People that get going see one thing.
They see themselves the way God sees them. They see themselves the way God sees them. I'm here to let you know how God sees you. I'll make your name- Greatgreat. Anything less than that is not for me. That's right.
Anything less than that is not for my family. Anything less than that is not for my children, not for my wife. Why? Because He said He'll make my name what? Great. Great.
So I gotta get going towards greatness. I got no excuse to not pursue everything God wants for my life because He says, "I will make your name great. "My question is, do you see yourself the way that God sees you? ComeDo you see yourself the way God sees you? How do you see yourself? How do you look at yourself?
How do you view your life? Is our life viewed the way God sees it, or is it viewed the way someone else saw it a, a few years ago? One of, one of the greatest things I've ever heard in my life is someone ha- hasn't seen me in a few years, they see me after a few years, and they say, "Man, you look so different. "Oh. I said, "That's right, because I love to change. "Ooh.
God forbid, God forbid you look the same as you did. God forbid your life looks exactly where it's at. Listen, I love to make everyone that's ever left my life, I lo- I, I love to make them sick. You know how you make them sick? When they leave my life, my life just gets better. Come on.
Let's go. I, I don't cry about who walks out. I get excited by who's left in it. That's right. Are you hearing me? Because what God's gonna do next in your life isn't, it didn't leave with who left, it's left with who God left in your life.
Are you hearing me today? Yes. That the people that God left in your life are more important than the people who left your life. This is important to catch, because any time God wants to do something great, He does it through people. When God wanted to save me and you, who did He send? A person named Jesus.
Are you hearing me today? Yes. When the Israelites cried out to God and they started crying out, "Save us, save us, save us," He didn't even talk back to them. He talked to Moses. Because any time God wants to save somebody and do something great, He sends people. The people in your life are gonna determine whether or not you get to the next level of your life.
Yeah. Do you see yourself the way God sees you? How do I learn to see things? Tell me why. Through people. The people will determine how you see things.
The people around you, they influence how you see things. They influence how you believe things. Jim Rohn, a great speaker, said this one time. He says, "Your life is the sum total of the 5 people you spend the most time with. "Come on. Who do you spend time with?
Yes. Who do you spend time with? And if you thought of every name but Jesus, you already got it wrong. Oh. I spend time with this person, that person, this person. If that ain't, if Jesus ain't in there, it brought your whole sum total to a net negative.
That's right. Jesus is the only person that brings it to a positive, because He's the most important person you could ever meet. He's the most important person you could ever introduce anybody to. I think it's about time we get to knowing Jesus a little bit better. Yes. We get lost in the scriptures a little bit.
We get lost in prayer a little bit because Jesus specializes in changing and transforming lives. Anywhere Jesus is, it never got left the same. When He walked into sick houses, everybody was healed. When He walked into empty towns, He left with them full. Jesus never left anything the same. When people had empty stomachs, He filled them.
When people had blind eyes, He healed them. When people couldn't talk, He opened their mouths. When people were dead, He brought them back to life. Jesus never leaves anything the way that He found it. Why? Because He loves to grow.
So I know and I can say with confidence in my heart that if you've ever met Jesus, my friend, He does not wanna leave you where He found you. That is good news today, because I know you didn't like where you were at anyway. I know you were dreaming of something bigger and something better, and Jesus has it in store for your life. He wants to do great things for you. He wants to do it for you. He wants to move in your life.
This is what God wants to do. But He says, "I will make your name great. "How do you see it? Amen. How we see determines everything. How you see determines everything.
People, they'll tell you what to see. Your position in life will determine how far you see. ComeYou want a better position in life? Yes. Learn about the giraffe. You know the giraffe has the longest neck of any animal, right?
Yeah. That thing, that neck is long, boy. That's long neck. Long neck. That animal, that thing will reach over the fence, eat a carrot, all kinds of crazy stuff at the zoo. But you know what I learned about the zoo?
When I was there, you know what I learned about the giraffe at the zoo? I learned that out of all the animals in the animal kingdom, one of the largest hearts on any animal is in the giraffe. Crazy, right? Think about for what. And the zoologist-- I asked a lot of questions. The zoologist told me.
I said, "Hey, well, why does the giraffe have such a big heart? "He says, "Well, because his head is so high. "The key to getting a higher perspective in life is a larger heart in life. One of the greatest leaders I've ever had the privilege of knowing is Pastor Sonny Argonzoni Sr. , and he could see far in life. But the only thing bigger than how far he could see was how large his heart was for the world.
Yeah. If you wanna see further for your family, you need a bigger heart. You don't need a better job. You don't need a higher view. Listen, you get a bigger heart for your loved ones, bigger heart for your business, bigger heart for the city, God will help you see further than you ever thought you could see. Because position determines how far I can see.
You don't need skill for that. You can pray and ask God for a heart. You can pray and ask God for insight. You can pray and ask God for wisdom, and He'll give you the heart for it, because a man with a heart for it is better than a man with the skill for it and no heart, because you'll always give everything to it. You'll give everything to your family. You'll give everything to your wife.
This is important. That's good stuff. This is important, and He'll give you the position to see further. The third thing that helps us-- determines how we see is proximity. People, position, proximity. Proximity determines how close I am to a thing.
Here's the blessing of being close. Being close helps you see past what you thought was true and helps you find out what is really true. Amen, come on. Are you hearing me? Yeah. Are you hearing me?
You ever been impressed by something from afar and got close and found out it in- this ain't that impressive? Yeah. Yes, y'all know it. Y'all, y'all know it. The, the, you, you, you seen the girl with the big lips in, on Instagram, and in person it was just terrible. Huh?
I know you were thinking it. Come on. You seen them on Instagram with a filter on, and that's a dude. That's a dude with the lip gloss on the photo. And you see him, you're like, "Brother, what is wrong with you? ""What are-- You don't look nothing like your Instagram.
"He's like, "Yes, I can't. "You can't walk around with filters. Proximity removes the fake. Proximity removes the fake. This is m- people love proximity. It removes the fake for fake people out of their lives.
But you don't get proximity, you don't get close to people, 'cause you don't want them to see the fake in your life. But if nothing changes- That'snothing changes. If nothing changes, nothing changes. And here's the dangerous thing about being fake. I know that's hard language. You want me, you want me to soften it up for you?
Come on. You s- it, it's not, you're not being fake, but you, but you're hiding things. You're keeping secrets from people. You don't let people know you're struggling. Yes. You don't let people know you're dealing with things.
You don't let nobody know you ain't prayed in 2 years. You don't let nobody know you ain't, you lost your Bible 5 years ago when you moved, and you never bought another one. You don't let nobody know that, that, that, that, that friend that you say you have at work is starting to become a little more than a friend. You haven't let-- Oh my, I'm in there right now. I know it. I felt that one.
I felt that one in my spirit. Stop playing around. Your wife and your husband loves you. Stop playing around. Listen to me. Because when we act this way, we behave this way, God can't bless who you pretend to be.
can't bless who you pretend to be, so start being who He called you to be. Come on. And let the blessings of God flow on your life. If Abraham would've stayed where he was at and never had got going, God could've never done everything He said He was gonna do. Come on. This is predicated on me and you deciding to change because God loves you.
Come on. God loves you so much, but He loves you so much He can't let you stay how you are. ComeThat's good. God also won't let, won't force you to choose Him. right. This is why people get to do whatever they wanna do, and you're wondering, "Why are they doing it?
"'Cause God lets you do what you wanna do. Yes. That'sHere's the thing, though. God says this: "I love you enough to let you do what you wanna do, if you choose that. But one thing I will never do," God says, "I will never remove the, the door to get to Me. And the door is called the door of change.
""It's called the door of change. Don't believe me? Ask Abraham. I'll make your name great. I'll bless you. I'll take care of you when you get going.
"on. And going would've changed everything for Abraham's life. Here's another one, okay? If we're gonna make these decisions, we're gonna get going and get growing, how do we get going? Number one is you gotta see it first. See it the way God sees it.
See you the way God sees you. Number 2 is you have to want it. He says, "I will bless you. "He says to Abraham, "I will bless you. "Desire is a powerful thing. Desire is the thing that caused you to get up the courage to call the woman that you're married to.
Desire's the thing that, that got you to get up and fill out the application. Desire's the thing that got you going to the gym because you were tired of how you looked and you wanted to live a better life. Desire was the thing that caused you to start budgeting because you're tired of being broke. Come on. Desire is a powerful tool. Desire is what God uses to thrust you into leadership.
Come on. Desire is what God gives you. You know how I know desire is powerful? Because desire is the first thing that the devil comes after. He takes the desire from you to serve. He takes the desire from you to give.
He takes the desire from you to pray. I hear people say, "I don't know what happened, I just don't want it. "I know what happened, the Devil got infiltrated into your camp, stole your desire away from you. Because if you have no desire, no one gets going, and if no one gets going, no one gets growing. Oh, come on. Steals your desire.
Desire is a powerful thing, but it's also a dangerous thing. 'Cause if you want the wrong thing bad enough, you'll sacrifice anything to get it. Yeah. true. If you want the bad, you want a bad thing bad enough, you will sacrifice anything to get it. This is unfortunate because we think because we got it, God wanted to give it.
Oh, I got it 'cause God wanted to give it. No. No, that's not why. God gave that to you and all the problems that came with her to teach you a lesson. You say, "Oh, I'm a bad, I'm a bad dude. I gamed her up.
I got her. "No, you're not that bad. God just made her stupid for 2 seconds while she fell in love with you. Yeah. This, this is desire. Listen, desire is such a powerful thing.
Desire is such a powerful thing. He says, "I wantI will bless you. "Is there anybody that wants what God wants for your life though? Is there anybody that wants to have it bad enough? He said da- He said, "Abraham, I wanna bless you. Abraham, I wanna make you great.
Abraham, I wanna see you do great things in life. "And He said, "In order for me to do it, you have to get going. "I wanna know something today. Does your behavior say that I wanna be blessed? Does your behaviorWe tracked your behavior on the Amazon package tracker, and I was able to see your journey from where you are to where God wants you to be, and you're moving along the journey nice and fine. I wonder if you, i- if the updates that I got from, from God of Amazon would tell me that your behavior says, "I wanna be blessed," or did you take a detour somewhere?
Come on. Or did you get off track somewhere? Or did you fall off somewhere? 'Cause this is the thing, if I wanna be blessed, I need to do a few things. We have to understand something. He says, "I need you to go, Abraham.
"Listen, if we're gonna do what God's called us to do, if we're gonna say, "God, I want to be blessed, I want to live that life," 3 things that need to ha- Ooh. Repentance, what is that? Pastor Ryan, repentance is me doing whatever I gotta do to get right with God. Right. on. Repentance says I'm flushing the liquor.
Party. Spin that. know my people. We know our people. WeGirl, get out of here. Huh?
Yeah. Man, God, I'm sorry I slept with that girl. That's not my wife. You sorry, not repenting, 'cause you still call her. Ooh. man.
Try it. Repentance isn't me saying sorry 'cause I got caught. now. It's me saying, "God, I'm sorry that I fell out of line. "Amen. "And I wanna get back right with you.
"Repentance isn't repentance without sacrifice. If I repent, I gotta make a sacrifice. I gotta make a sacrifice. Someone said repentance is like doing a 360. A 360 means I'm facing the same direction. Come on.
IRepentance is doing a 180. I'm heading in a different direction. Are you hearing me? Repentance starts with changing your direction. Which way are you moving? I gotta start moving in a different direction.
My, the move, the direction I'm moving determines whether I'm saying, "God, I wanna be blessed or not. "God, I wanna be blessed or not determines my direction. Number 2, after you repent, listen, repenting is me getting right with God. After I get right with God, I have to reconcile. What the heck does that word mean? Come on, now.
That word means I'm getting right with people. Reconcile means I'm gonna heal the relationship. Come on. Uh-uh, Pastor, mm-mm. I ain't talking to her no more. She trifling.
I ain't talking to her no more. Uh-uh. Pastor, I can't talk to this dude, he owes me 200 bucks. Reconcile. Reconcile. We gotta, we gotta learn to reconcile.
I'm not saying, I'm not sayingListen, reconcile is learning to trust again, building trust with somebody again. Listen, I can forgive you and never trust you. Come on. But I can never trust you without forgiving you. Come on. Yeah.
That means I can never have a relationship. The currency of any good relationship is trust. Comeright. You cannot have intimacy without trust. You cannot have a high-value relationship without trust. This is why we gotta grow in this area.
I gotta repent. I gotta reconcile. I gotta heal some things in my heart. I gotta stop treating this new leader like my last leader. I gotta start, I g- I, I gotta stop treating this new disciple like my last disciple. I gotta stop walking into this church with the attitude from my last church and walk in with a new attitude for this church, because this is a whole different season.
You know what reconciling is? Reconciling is saying, "Hey, I'm not gonna let the contamination from last season go into the next season. ""Because I believe that what's ahead of me is better than what's behind me. I believe what God has for me is greater than what's already been through my life. I understand that what God wants to do is prosper me and not harm me. "All right, can we get that through our mind right now, that God wants great things for your life?
So it's important for me to reconcile my relationships. Some of the best relationships I had were the ones that broke and we put back together. Did you know that every good racing horse breaks its leg once or twice? They put it back together, and it's stronger than it was before. I think every good relationship needs to go through a tough time. Every good relationship needs to go through some hard times.
I, I, I think unless you've been through some things with some people, that those really ain't your people. Until you go through something with them, until you've been through a little bit of the fire, until you said something that kinda offended them, until they said something that kinda offended you and you had to get over it and you had to ask for clarification on it. Until that happens, I don't think we really have a relationship. ComeReconcile. The third thing I would do, okay, if, uh, I wanna receive the blessing of God, is I repent. After I reconcile, the third thing I would do is I would review.
I c- I, I highly encourage you to review every week. Review your life every week. Where did you spend your time? Where did you give the majority of your time? Where did you spend the majority of your money? on.
Where did you serve at? Did you serve at all? Did you evangelize to anybody? Did you witness to somebody? Did you tell somebody about Christ? Did you learn anything new?
Did you change anything about your life? Did you apply what you learned to your life? Did you teach anybody something? Is there anything you've done to really grow this week? That's what I wanna know. Let's review our lives, 'cause those types of behaviors say, "God, I want to be blessed.
"third thing is piano player can make his way. third thing to do, he says, "God, I, I wanna get going. "What gets me going? When I see it. When you see it. No one gets going somewhere they can't see.
on. When I see it. Another thing that gets you going is when you want it. When you want it bad enough, you'll let nothing stop you from going. Yeah. Come on.
When you want it bad. And the third thing is, is you have to choose it. Choose what? 2 things Abraham had to choose here, 2 things that Abraham had to choose that I think me and you need to choose, that I think we all wrestle with. The first one is this. He says, "I will bless you to be a"What?
Blessing. You have to choose to be a blessing. God says, "I'll bless you. "So what? You can be aBlessing. Blessing.
Abraham had to choose that. He had to have a mindset of, "God, you called me to be a blessing. "I wonder how many rooms you've walked into and felt completely helpless in, felt like there was nothing you had to give, nothing you had to offer, nothing you could add value to. That's a defeated mentality. That's a discouraging mentality. Amen.
But God says, "I've blessed you. I've blessed you, and I've never sent you into any place where you couldn't add value. "Come"I've never sent you into any room where you couldn't add value, where you were not valuable. I've never sent you into any season. "That's encouraging. You know why?
Because you can look at your family and think about, what can I do? You can do a lot. You can start growing. You can start growing. You can start growing, and when you grow, it'll change everything around you. I wonder how many times we've complained about our season and our situation and asked God to change it, and God said, "I would love to change it, but can we start with you?
"Because if we're all honest, the biggest obstacle between where we're at and where God wants us to go, it's you. Yeah. What's the biggest obstacle? It's not, it's not outside circumstances. It's not outside situations. It's you.
'Cause you know why? You know how I know? 'Cause the Bible tells me so. It tells me that God never takes someone backwards. The Israelites got delivered out of Egypt, and He never took them back, even when they asked to go back. Isn't that crazy?
"Why don't You just take us back? "He said, "Nah, I'm not doing that. "And they cursed God, and they made different idols. Moses caught all them boys turning up down there around that golden calf. Moses got so mad, angry, to a point where his anger kept him out of the promise of God. And the, here's another thing about change.
You know, that wasn't the first time Moses got angry. That's right. The first time he got angry, he killed somebody. Remember that? Yep. And God thought, He thought, "I dealt with you.
I dealt with you, Moses. I took you to the wilderness, dealt with you. "And then 40, 45 years later, he gets angry again, and God says, "Listen, Mos, you're not changing. I'm not letting you into the Promised Land," because God won't let old seasons and habits contaminate new ones. Comeon. Don't disqualify yourself from your next season by refusing to change in this one.
That it can happen to anybody. I gotta choose to be a blessing. I gotta change my mentality. I gotta change how I look at things. I gotta change. As soon as they said 200 people, 300 bucks, I said, "They, they got enough.
I, I don'tThey don't need me. "Change your mentality. Right. Change your ment- Life group? I ain't got no time. Barely get to work on time.
What youChange your mentality. I barely have enough time to do this, bare- Listen, change your mentality because that mentality is what's limiting you from the next level anyways. Wow. That mentality, all it's ever gotten you is what you got. Is that enough or is there more? And if there's more, I think we gotta choose a new mentality.
We gotta choose to change. Listen, something's gotta give in your life, because God wants to do too much good for us to have so little change. We need more change. I have to choose to be a blessing. What's the last thing I gotta choose? He said, "Abraham, you have to go.
You have to go. You have to leave here. "Listen, I don't know where you're at in life, and it might not be that bad. Some of you might be like, "Man, thank God, I've been waiting to leave. I can't wait to get up out of here. "Good for you.
Some of you, you've gotten comfortable somewhere. You've gotten complacent somewhere. You've gotten safe somewhere. Dr. Darius Daniel says this in a mentoring class I was in. He says, "Ryan, the greatest threat to your next level is success in your last one.
"Wow. Success, because we get so comfortable. He said, "Abraham, you have to go. You can't stay here no more, Abraham. I got so big of a plan for your life, you can't stay here. You need to go, Abraham.
You need to go to the training center. You need to go to the directors campus. You need to go to the leadership campus. You need to go to Tennessee. You need to go to the mission field. You need to go start the life group.
You need to go and start giving. You need to go, you need to go, you need to go," because I'm tired of running in circles. I'm tired of doing things the same old way. I don't know about you, but I can't let another year go by and I'm in the same spot I was in last year. I'm sick of it. I'm tired of it.
But I hear the voice of the Lord saying, "Ryan, and I need you to get going, because if you get gr- going, Ryan, you'll get growing. "I came to speak that word over your life, that if you wanted more for your life, don't let anything hinder you. It's time to get going. It's time for you to get going to your next season, and get going to the next level of your life, because God wants to make your name great. God wants to bless you and bless your family, but He's not gonna do it wherever we're at. He says we gotta go.
Someone say go. And you can stand to your feet with me here today. He said, "Abraham, you gotta go. And when you go, then I'll show you. "You know what that means? It means that you don't get to go somewhere and not need God to get there.
I saved that one just for you. I didn't tell them that in first service. They gonna be sick. He said, "Abraham, go and I'll show. "That means if you go without Him, you'll never know where to go. my.
Is it possible you don't know where to go- Ohbecause you left God somewhere down the road? Oh. Is it possible? He says, "If you go, I'll show. If you go, I'll show. "Are you ready for God to show you the next level of your life?
Yes. Come on. Come on, if you're ready, lift those hands real high. Lift those hands real high and say, "God, I'll go wherever you want me to go. I'll do whatever you want me to do. I'll be who you called me to be.
"Come on, lift your hands real high as they sing a song. Right now as they do, and you wanna go to the next level, I wanna invite you to this altar right now. as they do, and you wanna go to the next level, I wanna invite you to this altar right now. I wanna invite you to step out of your seat and begin to experience all that God has forthat's it. Lift those hands. You can have thisThat's it.
Come on. Take everything. Come on, that's it. Leave those seats. Lift those hands right here to the altar. You can have this world.
front to the back, lift your hands. You are all I need. Close your eyes. God, I wanna go to where the blessing is. God, I'll change whatever I gotta change, whatever I gotta let go of, God. God, whatever has to go out of my life, remove it from me, Lord.
I want all that you have, God. You'resing it, sing it. Lift your hands. everything. Every head bowed, every eye closed all over the room. We're gonna spend a few moments with Jesus, but there's a little something I like to call my going insurance.
The Bible says that God told Abraham, "You go, I'll show," and after he says, "Okay, God, I'll go," He says, "I'll bless who blesses you. I'll curse who curses you, and I'll make sure that every family of the earth is blessed because of you. "There's people that'll be blessed because you decided to go, and you're gonna unlock blessings on your life when people bless you, and God says, "I'll protect you from anyone who tries to curse you. "That's the going insurance. Only one way to get it, though, is receiving Jesus. If you wanna receive Jesus for your journey, would you lift your hand right now?
Lift your hand. Lift your hand. That's good. That's good. Say, "Lord Jesus, I'm ready to go wherever you want me to go, and I ask that your hand would be on my life, because I believe that Jesus died for the forgiveness of my sins, but rose again so I can live the life that He desire for me to live. I surrender it all to you, and I ask you to use my life however you can, in Jesus' name.
"The church says amen and amen. Come on, can y'all put your hands together right now? Come on, can you put a little shout behind your clap right now? Can you say hallelujah? Hallelujah. Can you say glory to God?
Glory to God. What an amazing time together today. Listen, take your steps. Get going on your journey. Talk to somebody. Get growing, get changing, get developing, because Victory Outreach Mesa is on the move.
We'll see you guys next Sunday, 9:00 and 11:00 AM, Miracle Sunday. Get ready for a miracle. Get ready for something powerful, and our pastor will be back in the house, so invite everybody you know to come get a word in the name of Jesus. Amen. Love y'all.
